Scale Operator

Responsibilities for scale operator:
- Direct deliveries, load out activities and truck movement with operation supervisors.
- Grade, and approve material, both incoming and outgoing.
- Ensure both product quality and safety.
- Weigh all incoming/outgoing trucks and prepare all bills of lading and or scale tickets.
- Coordinate deliveries with dispatch.
- Answer phone calls that are forwarded to the scale phone.
- Pay all customers.
Qualifications for scale operator:
- Possess flexibility and adaptability to take on additional job responsibilities, as needed
- Must be able to work quickly, independently, and accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work on your feet for a full day
- Maintain a regular, dependable attendance
- Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth

Company Overview:
Since 1929 Muskingum Iron & Metal Co has specialized in the processing of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal. We purchase scrap from the general public, commercial accounts, and industrial customers across the region. After segregating material by grade, we package it to meet mill furnace specifications so the material can be melted down to begin its new lifecycle. We currently operate 5 locations across Southeastern and Central Ohio.
