Earth Day
BRINGING EARTH DAY TO THE ZANESVILLE COMMUNITY
MUSKINGUM IRON & METAL TO HOST COMMUNITY EVENTS, FUNDRAISERS AND OFFER SPECIAL EARTH DAY PRICING THROUGHOUT APRIL WITH SUPPORT FROM LOCAL SPONSOR, ADORNETTO’S.
Zanesville, OH: Muskingum Iron & Metal Co is hosting a series of events, fundraisers and price specials to raise awareness of Earth Day and the importance of recycling in the community. Throughout April, all four Zanesville Elementary and Intermediate Schools along with Maysville Elementary School will collect used aluminum beverage containers from students, staff and the community to be recycled. Muskingum Iron & Metal will write a check to each school for the aluminum cans they collect and will match an additional $500 per school. The school that recycles the most aluminum cans will receive a pizza party sponsored by Adornetto’s.
“Raising funds through recycling for the schools is a win-win for the community, students and educational system,” said Steve Foreman, Assistant Superintendent, Zanesville City Schools. “Students will paint the recycling boxes in an Earth Day theme to create a top-of-mind awareness of recycling that they may carry with them throughout their lives.”
On Earth Day, April 22nd, Muskingum Iron & Metal will give customers the option to donate their proceeds to The Animal Shelter Society in Zanesville. Customers can also expect a special week-long Earth Day price for aluminum beverage cans at the company’s Zanesville, Cambridge and Hebron locations between April 19th – April 23rd.
“Earth Day reminds us of recycling’s significance in preserving Earth’s precious natural resources,” said Josh Joseph, President, Muskingum Iron and Metal. “We are happy to combine this celebration with our civic duty of giving back to the community. On average, The United States processes enough steel scrap to build 25 Eiffel Towers each day. Please join us in celebrating Earth Day and contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable future.”
